Four myths about magnetic bracelets

Myths #1: If you use a magnetic bracelet it will take all the pain away from all over the body.

This is the most widely known myth. Unfortunately it is quite simply not true and we would be doing you a great disservice if we said it was. However it is true that magnetic bracelets will generally improve circulation around the whole body. Because they are placed over the radial artery (the pulse point in your wrist), the magnetism is rapidly distributed around the circulatory system to all major organs. This means the bracelets can help ease niggles in other areas than the wrist but they will not take all of the pain and discomfort away from an area that is not in close proximity to the wrist.

Myth #2: The strength of the bracelet isn't important.

Magnetic bracelets are available in a wide variety of different strengths and are made from 3 types of material. It is essential that you select the correct strength and material for your individual needs to ensure that you receive the maximum benefit from your bracelet:

1.Stainless steel link bracelets. These are the highest strength bracelets that are available. They have a 3,000 gauss magnet in each link which puts them in the super strength category. If you have severe pain which has not been resolved by painkillers or your condition is chronic for example arthritis then this is the most suitable type of bracelet for you.

2.Hematite expandable bracelets. These are high strength bracelets. They have a 1,200 gauss magnet in each large bead (average of 16 magnets). If your pain is moderate and can be resolved with pain killers or your condition is curable for example RSI, or you are allergic to all metals then this type of bracelet is best for you.

3.Copper based plated These are high strength bracelets and they have at least 6 x 1,700 gauss magnets. These bracelets are open ended and are made from copper with gold or silver plating over. If your pain is mild or only troubles you occasionally this is the type of bracelet or you.

Myth #3: The bracelet should be worn very loose.

Bracelets should not be worn either very loose or too tight to the skin. You must leave enough excess to allow your skin to expand and contract with the fluid and heat changes that occur in your body throughout the 24 hour period. The general rule of thumb is there must be about enough room to place a finger between the bracelet and the skin.

Myth #4: Magnetic bracelets are just for people with arthritis.

When you talk about magnetic therapy most people know of an aunty or mother who wears a magnetic bracelet to help with their arthritis. But bracelets can help with all types of pain in the fingers, hands, wrist and depending on the strength even the elbow and upper arm. Whether your pain is caused by arthritis, carpal tunnel syndrome, RSI, tendonitis, tennis elbow or any other joint related disorder a magnetic bracelet, providing it is strong enough and worn all the time, will alleviate your symptoms very effectively.

DID YOU KNOW?

Magnetic bracelets can help reduce high blood pressure and stress. They help to detoxify the body by eliminating excess fluid and reducing the workload of the heart. The result the heart rate reduces and blood pressure reduces naturally, which means you will have more energy and feel less tired.

Magnetic bracelets also help to increase seratonin (hormone) levels which regulates mood and anxiety. Increased seratonin levels are linked to a reduction in stress levels.
